Isabell is a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley, focusing her archaeological research in California while serving as a responsible collaborator for research institutions and tribes. She aspires to publish and perform field research through academic institutions in a manner which empowers communities and students. She is particularly interested in combined paleoethnobotanical and zooarchaeological methodologies, collections archaeology, and other non-invasive methodologies to examine foodways and stewardship practices. Isabell currently serves as the Assistant Curator to the De Young Museum in San Francisco with a focus on NAGPRA policies and repatriation.
