Seth LaRosa is a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley. Working with the Bear Bones Lab since 2023, he has contributed to the Hitch Stories project, an intergenerational storytelling and storymapping initiative focused on Pomo history and culture at Clear Lake. Seth uses GIS to map culturally significant places while maintaining confidentiality and upholding Tribal Data sovereignty. His work involves collaborating with Tribal members to document oral histories, build cartographic resources, and connect these narratives to broader environmental and cultural landscapes. He is particularly interested in the intersection of Indigenous sovereignty, cultural resource protection, and environmental policy.
