Name: Rory Hinkle
Project: Missing American Airmen
Bio: Rory is a senior, and a transfer student from Sonoma County. His research at the lab focuses on bridging low-impact archaeological methods, namely LiDAR 3D imaging, with community-accountable research goals. With a background in biological anthropology and forensic anthropology, he is inspired by biocultural methods that make legible the embodied reality of cultural experience. Through this project, he and his team have developed a suite of videos to aid the school’s community partners in utilizing LiDAR for their means; the team has also built a prototype for a 3D comparative database to use for future in-field identification of B-17 crewmen.
