Name: Madeline Paige Canada

Project: Old Leupp Indian Boarding School and Japanese Isolation Center Project

Bio: Madeline is a recent UC Berkeley graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in English. Her undergraduate studies centered around poetry, postmodernity, and critical theory, although more broadly, her interests lie in how stories shape, emulate, and comment on cultures and society. She is honored to work on the Old Leupp project, both in the field and on the community-mandated educational materials, leveraging her skills in editing and web-design to articulate the experiences of Native and Japanese Americans in an accessible and educational format. She looks forward to continuing giving voice to those whose stories have gone untold,  and learning from community partners how best to do so.
