Jarré's research at Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park addresses the kinds of social forces that affected the community who created the Ancestral Space that is now a park unit of California State Parks. Allensworth is the only California town to be founded, financed and governed by African Americans. She is now also an interpreter at Angel Island State Park in the Bay Area.
