Project: Mono Lake Kootzaduka'a Petition for Federal Recognition
Francesca began working in the Bear Bones Lab helping assemble genealogies for the Kootzidika Mono people after learning about the project in an archaeology class she took with Jun. She graduated UC Berkeley in 2024 with degrees in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Integrative Biology, and is now a PhD student at Stanford studying evolutionary genetics in the Department of Developmental Biology. She continues to bring to her research an immense respect for the local people she works with and a continued interest in working with indigenous communities.
