Bio: Eleni Barzu is a current undergraduate student at UC Berkeley studying Integrative Biology. Working as an undergraduate research apprentice in the Bear Bones Lab as of Fall 2024, she contributed to the Ghost Ranch Collaborative Zooarchaeology project under the mentorship of Juliette Lovell. Her work involved analyzing previously excavated materials to better understand how small mammals shaped both the environmental context and human use of the site over time. She took part in organizing and inputting data, later focusing on categorization and analysis of the faunal remains. Eleni is particularly interested in the intersection of ecology, archaeology, and animal behavior.
